Remembrance Day

Hi Parents,

As most things that are in our lives right now, Remembrance Day will look a little different this year. The students will continue our school's tradition by making a digital service this year. We will be taping the ceremony and will share it on our BLOG for you and your family when it is complete. If you are new to our school, you are welcome to share a picture of a family member who served with their name and relation to you attached. For example, Sgt Smith, served in Afghanistan, Mary's grandpa. Please send these pictures to me before Tuesday so we have time to add them. If you have sent pictures in previous years, we will continue to use your slide unless you let us know otherwise. Our class is making a virtual book so no need to dress up for it. 

Just a reminder there is no school Wednesday Nov 11th in honor of Remembrance Day.

Dec 15th Update

 Hi Parents, 10 more sleeps! I hope you and your family are doing well. Today we practiced describing hot chocolate and are making crystals. We are just wrapping up our subtraction unit and are making festive word problems. Just a reminder that this week the kiddos can wear their festive hats and shirts all week. Thursday will be the last day of classes (it is a full day) and it is Pajama Day. We voted on watching a movie Thursday afternoon. Please feel free to send a special snack for the movie. There is no school Friday. Classes will resume online Jan 5th. All the information will come to you over your break. Tomorrow the link for our virtual assembly will be sent to you and I will post it on the blog and classroom as well. Thank you again for all the generous gifts, this class spoils me each day! Dec 3rd Update

 Hi Parents Thank you all for booking interviews tonight and tomorrow. This week we learned all about India. They have different festivals like Diwali and Holi. Ask me about these festivals. In math we are doing 3 digit subtraction with regrouping. Ask me about the Robin Hood rule. We did lots of art this week. I can't wait to show you my rangolis, mehendi hands and Christmas trees. Today we learned the plural rule. Most words you just add an S, if it ends in a hissing letter (S, X, CH, SH) we add an ES. If it ends in a and f we drop the f and add an VES. Class Update for Jan 22nd

 Hi Parents, We had a busy week. We started to learn how to handwrite! We did our clock climbers "a, d, and g" so far. Ask for me to show you my handwriting! We also worked on recording our travel video about India, we will share it with you soon! In science, we learned what a mammal is, do you know we are mammals? We also researched lifecycles, ask me about what I learned. In math, we finished our graphing unit. I am bringing home my quiz and my bar graph today to show you.  We have some fun events coming up. The teachers talked about Valentines day and we have decided to make our cards in a safe way at school. Please do not buy or make cards at home this year, we have it all covered at school. We will also have opportunities to celebrate friendship and write notes of kindness on Pink shirt day Feb 22nd. Our class is the pink shirt day organizers this year too!!
